The idea
Northform brings industrial precision and quiet, purposeful design to one of the most familiar tools in the world. Nothing decorative for decoration's sake. Every line has a job.
A sculpted wood body replaces the visual clutter of a conventional brush and feels considered from every angle.
A precision 2.5-inch angled profile is being developed for control, clean lines and demanding daily use.
The finished handle is designed around a durable, low-sheen surface that resists water and latex paint.
Materials with a place
Bigleaf maple gives every handle its own grain, tone and character. Canadian steel adds quiet strength. Together, they create a tool that feels distinctly at home here.
Northform founder · Vancouver, BCThe story
I grew up in a small town and started a painting company at eighteen, straight out of high school. Years on jobsites made one question impossible to ignore: why did the tool responsible for creating beautiful spaces always feel like an afterthought?
Northform began with the belief that a working tool can be precise, durable and genuinely beautiful. Our first brush brings local material, Canadian ingenuity and considered engineering into one uncompromising form.
“Make the object as considered as the work it creates.”
